Serena Barnes joined the Barnesviolins family, bringing with her a rich musical background and a genuine passion for the arts. She holds an Associate of Arts in Music Technology and Audio Recording as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Florida Atlantic University, where she studied music composition and business.
Serena's musical journey began with a love of singing and songwriting — performing her own music from an early age. As she grew as a musician, she turned her focus to piano so she could accompany herself during live performances and gigs. Today, she is actively learning cello, reigniting her lifelong love of music through a new instrument and a new chapter.
Her academic background in music technology, composition, and business makes her a natural fit at Barnesviolins. She understands both the creative and practical sides of music, and brings that perspective to her work with the shop. Whether helping a new student find the right instrument or connecting families with the resources they need, Serena approaches every interaction with warmth and enthusiasm.
Music has always been a part of who I am — from singing and writing my own songs to learning piano and now cello. Being part of Barnesviolins means I get to share that love of music with others every day.
Serena is a valued member of the Barnesviolins team, contributing her musical knowledge, creative background, and personal connection to the shop's mission of making quality instruments and expert guidance accessible to every student in South Florida.
